My entry for Fake Criterions “Double Fakeout”month. Back when the movie “I Am Legend” came out in 2007, it featured a devastated version of New York. Supposedly, the city was abandoned in the then-future 2009. In one of the shots of the city, a billboard for the 2009 movie “Batman VS Superman” could be seen. Of course in the real world, 2009 came and went, but no Batman VS Superman movie yet. As of 2012, still not even in production. So I figured this would count as a possible Double Fakeout title. Back in 2006, Brandon Routh starred in “Superman Returns”, so of course he should have starred as Superman in this 2009 movie too. And of course Christian Bale as Batman. I took the emblem from what was glimpsed in “I Am Legend” and created this Double Fake Criterion cover. Better written info at http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/01/08/batman_superman_movie/
